Delete your Doc Bear's™ Comfort Kitchen account

This page explains how to delete your account in Doc Bear's™ Comfort Kitchen, the app made by Doc Bear Enterprises, LLC, and what happens to your data when you do.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Doc Bear's™ Comfort Kitchen and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile > Settings > Security.
  3. Tap Delete Account and enter your password.

Your account and its data are deleted straight away. This cannot be undone.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancel yours there first: on iPhone or iPad in the Settings app > your name > Subscriptions, and on Android in the Google Play Store app > your profile picture > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

No longer have the app?

Email privacy@docbear-ent.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We confirm the request came from you, delete the account and everything listed below, and reply when it is done, within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • your account record: name, email address, password hash and settings
  • your food inventory, consumption history and price history
  • your recipes, recipe photos, collections, saved recipes and recipe import history
  • your meal plans, meal prep plans and their templates
  • your shopping lists and templates, saved stores and saved contacts
  • your nutrition goals and nutrition logs
  • your profile photo
  • ratings and reviews you wrote on any recipe
  • reports you made, and reports about your content
  • the list of users you blocked
  • the record of your privacy and consent choices
  • our log of the emails we sent you

What is kept, and for how long

  • A record that the deletion happened: the date, how many records were removed, and a one-way hash of your email address. It contains none of your data and cannot be turned back into your address. We keep it so we can show the request was carried out.
  • Nightly backups: our database is copied each night and each copy is kept for 14 days, so your deleted data is gone from every copy within 14 days of deletion.
  • Our AI provider: content recently sent for AI processing (a recipe, a receipt photo) may be held by OpenAI for up to 30 days under their terms, then deleted. Deleting your account does not shorten that period.
  • Our email provider: keeps a delivery log of the confirmation email we send you, under its own terms.

Delete some of your data and keep your account

You can delete any of these yourself, one at a time, in the app. Each is deleted straight away.

  • A recipe: on the recipe's card in Recipes, tap the menu (three dots) and choose Delete.
  • A recipe photo: edit the recipe, tap the menu on the photo and choose Delete.
  • Your rating and review of a recipe: open the recipe, tap the menu on your review under Ratings & Reviews and choose Delete review.
  • An inventory item: tap Delete on the item, or choose Delete from its menu. If you give a reason, such as Used or Expired, the item is kept in your consumption history; choose no reason to remove it without a record.
  • A price you saved: open the item's Price sheet and tap the delete icon beside the price.
  • A shopping list or template: on its card, tap the menu and choose Delete. To remove one item from a list, open the item and tap Remove.
  • A meal on your meal plan: tap the menu on the meal and choose Remove.
  • A meal plan template: open Meal Plan Templates and tap the delete icon beside it.
  • A recipe collection: tap the menu on the collection and choose Delete. Removing a recipe from a collection does not delete the recipe.
  • A saved store: in Profile > Settings > My Stores, tap the delete icon beside the store.
  • Your profile photo: tap your photo in Profile > Settings > General and choose Remove photo.

To delete anything not listed here, such as your consumption history, saved share contacts or nutrition logs, email privacy@docbear-ent.com from the email address on your account and say what you want deleted. We reply when it is done, within 30 days.

What is kept: a deleted item stays in our nightly backups for up to 14 days, then it is gone from every copy. If someone reported your review before you deleted it, our record of that report keeps a short excerpt of the review. That record is deleted if you delete your account.
